Tugg had its official launch at SXSW in 2012, however wheels began turning to make Tugg a reality well in advance of that!
Founders Nicolas Gonda and Pablo Gonzalez met in the Summer of 2010 through mutual colleagues in the filmmaking & technology space in Austin. Excited by things happening online and off, both were looking to take on a new and ambitious challenge to further merge film and tech in a way that serves filmmakers and film fans.
Nicolas Gonda – Co-Founder, CEO
Nicolas Gonda serves as CEO at Tugg and has over 10 years of experience as a film producer, with such films as the recent Academy Award nominated THE TREE OF LIFE and TO THE WONDER. He has several projects in various stages of production, including the 2014 Sundance selected THE BETTER ANGELS and two upcoming films, KNIGHT OF CUPS and Terrence Malick’s untitled feature based in the Austin music scene. Nicolas was recently named one of Indiewire’s inaugural “Influencers” and Variety’s “10 Producers to Watch” for his work in the independent film industry. He also serves on the Board of the Austin Film Society.
Pablo Gonzalez – Co-Founder, COO
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Pablo Gonzalez has over 12 years of experience leading development and marketing teams in an array of industries, ranging from enterprise software to retail products. Pablo serves as COO at Tugg and oversees the company’s development and operations. He also holds an MBA in Business and is an electrical engineer.
